Too Funny For Your Good?

Image result for sad clown

Your school probably had a class clown. He was liked by almost everyone and everyone wanted to hang out with him.

Now ask yourself this: Was he reliable? Did people listen to his advice?

The answer to both questions is most likely "No."

When writing copy, you should use humor to keep readers engaged and interested. You can achieve this by using right amount of humor — putting the prospects at ease and making them more receptive to your message.

On the flip side, being too witty will make your writing more about you (the writer) than the product itself. The result is a loss of a potential customer due to them not taking your product seriously.

No one wants to spend their hard-earned money on a product or company they don't take seriously.

Try to be a multi-faceted person who can be both funny and insightful rather than a one-dimensional class clown.
