Spec Ad #48 - Guinness - Lease Extension
In 1759, Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000 year lease and founded the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, Ireland.
Guinness Draught was later developed in 1959 to celebrate the 200-year anniversary of the signing of the lease.
Surprisingly, Guinness Draught overtook all of the other Guinness products and became the brewery's most popular offering. It has since become the face of the Guinness brand.
This spec ad pays homage to this Irish ambrosia in a humorous way. The ad implies that Guinness Draught is so good that its brewers wished Arthur Guinness had signed a longer lease.
