The original Ford GT's 1966 victory at Le Mans shook the racing world. Because before the GT's win, Ferrari had dominated the world-famous race and seemed unstoppable. But the Ford Motor Company heeded the words of its founder, Henry Ford, and thoroughly believed that they could built the best race car of its era. Thus, the Ford GT was born and would go on to win Le Mans four consecutive times from 1966 to 1969. The wins cemented the Ford GT's place in automotive history and turned its blue and orange Gulf livery into an icon. Now the 2018 Ford GT Heritage Edition is here. My spec ad for the 2019 Porsche GT3 RS harkens back to the classic Rolls Royce print ads by David Ogilvy .  A quote from a Jalopnik review is used to highlight the track-focused design of the GT3 RS. And the metaphor of a warrior is echoed throughout the copy. It all culminates in a payoff that's focused on achieving the glory and honor — something all soldiers strive for.

Spec Ad #51 - Budweiser - No Blues..

Budweiser's latest marketing campaign is clever. Every bottle and can displays the word 'America' as well as name of the state in which it is sold. I wanted to further tie in the theme of 'America' by noting the official colors of the brand — red and white. The only color that's missing from a true connection to the U.S. is blue. And my ad notes this missing link by explaining that drinking Budweiser must have gotten rid of all of the drinker's blues.

Lay's website features the slogan  " With flavors almost as rich as our history, we have a chip or crisp flavor guaranteed to bring a smile on your face".  I used this phrase as inspiration and ran with it. My ad campaign focuses on the unique flavor and style of the chips AND the individuals who enjoy them. The heart of the campaign lies in how one's unique sense of self influences their flavor choice.

Spec Ad #48 - Guinness - Lease Extension

In 1759, Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000 year lease and founded the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, Ireland. Guinness Draught was later developed in 1959 to celebrate the 200-year anniversary of the signing of the lease. Surprisingly, Guinness Draught overtook all of the other Guinness products and became the brewery's most popular offering. It has since become the face of the Guinness brand. This spec ad pays homage to this Irish ambrosia in a humorous way. The ad implies that Guinness Draught is so good that its brewers wished Arthur Guinness had signed a longer lease.

It's also found in Mexican restaurants and aboard taco trucks across America. The hot sauce features the perfect amount of heat with a flavor profile that brings out the best qualities of any dish. You may not know or remember its name. But rest assured, Tapatio Hot Sauce has played a part in feeding you in the past. And will keep doing so in the future, just like any good Mexican grandmother would.

So open a cold bottle of Heineken after work and experience a breath of fresh air.

A historic heat wave has recently enveloped the West Coast, forcing affected residents to seek all types of ways to cool down. But in my opinion, the best way to cool down is to go to a coffee shop and enjoy a cup of iced coffee in an air-conditioned environment. The idea for this spec ad sprung up during a walk yesterday afternoon. The sun was blaring down on me and I was looking for relief. Luckily, I saw a Dunkin' Donuts in the distance. The storefront looked like an oasis in an unforgiving desert. I went in and was quickly greeted by the air conditioning. Tired and impatient, I ordered a medium vanilla iced coffee in a single breath. The first sip transported me back to last winter. I found myself imagining the freezing air on my cheeks. And I even shivered a little bit. Taken aback, I grasped my wooden seat and was compelled to alert others to this breakthrough. With this epiphany in mind, I raced home and created this ad. Because of Ikea's wide availability, we take it for granted. We should take the time to realize that their furniture is special. It's affordable, yet beautiful. Simple, but practical. And that's the main point of this ad. We see an Ikea shelf and instantly imagine it being filled with items from our home. The furniture's minimalist design makes it a blank canvas — ready to be personalized into one's own masterpiece.

Fanta is one of the most popular soft drinks in the world. However, it has not reached the same following in the United States. The purpose of this ad is to bring attention back to Fanta. The tagline plays on the show "Orange is the New Black" by stating that "Orange is the new Orange". The public is reminded that Fanta's beloved orange soft drink will never go out of style. This motif is further highlighted by the use of the popular phrase "In case you needed a little refresher". This pun underlines Fanta's thirst-quenching quality. But also plays on the fact that soft drinks are often referred to as refreshments.

Frank's RedHot sauce is a cayenne pepper based hot sauce. Its ad campaigns are usually witty and feature their slogan, "I put that sh*t on everything!". My spec ad continues this theme of an all-purpose hot sauce by including sushi into the mix. It does this by playing on the uncooked nature of sushi. The tagline asserts that even raw dishes love to be around the fire/heat caused by Frank's RedHot.

He is considered by many to be the greatest soccer player of all time.  However, his critics cite his failure to win a World Cup as the one obstacle holding him back from being the 'GOAT'. Because Messi is already 30 years old, the 2018 World Cup in Russia might be his last chance. He knows the effect a World Cup win will have on his legacy and his nation of Argentina.  And Messi embraces this challenge with open arms as all individuals seeking success should also do.

The spec ad focuses on the relationship between nature and humanity. As humankind progresses, we look to artificial materials when developing products. Instead, we should look at the world around us and utilize (in a responsible manner) what nature has given us.

Also, a marketing campaign can be started using #ASightToBehold, where users take photographs of their Coke bottles/cans in front of famous landmarks and beautiful landscapes.

And there may be some people who are still on the fence regarding the plan because they're unsure of its perks and advantages. With that in mind, this spec ad for Prime breaks down the benefits using numbers. The numbers highlight the features of the Prime membership, along with its benefits to the consumer. The large numbers grab the attention of the reader. And the concise text keeps the reader engaged all the way through the ad.

Many of today's adults grew up with Pringles Snack Stacks and remember commercials like the one below:  Nostalgia offers a break from the stress and monotony of adult working life. And these portion-controlled snacks allow nostalgic customers to not feel guilty while indulging in a much-needed snack.

Spec Ad #13 - Martin Guitars - Down To The Crossroads

Martin Guitars' ads for signature artist models usually include lyrics from the musician's song. For example, an ad for Johnny Cash's signature guitar features lyrics from his song "Folsom Prison Blues". I continued this trend by using lyrics from the song "Crossroads", which was covered by the band Cream. Eric Clapton gained much of his success during his three years with Cream in the 1960s. It was their American tour that cemented Eric Clapton's status as a guitar virtuoso. Anyway, I used the lyrics to remind  consumers to act quickly so the opportunity to own these great guitars doesn't pass them by.

Will You Join OUR Fight? - Personalizing the Overwatch Site's Call to Action

I don't have much time to play video games but I try to sneak in a few hours of Overwatch every weekend. There are rumors that the game is waning in popularity... So let's change that by making their website copy more inclusive and personal . Original Overwatch Website Copy My Edited Version The simple replacement of 'the' with 'our' makes a world of difference. The phrase 'Fight for OUR Future' makes the stakes feel more real than 'Fight for the Future'. The wording of the backstory has been tweaked to make it flow better. And sentences have been shortened to provided eye relief for readers. I hate boring call-to-action button text so  'Explore the game' has been changed to 'ANSWER THE CALL', which also ties back to the backstory. What do you think of my changes? Do you think my edits would have any effect on increasing the player-base?
